Beside the sea long grasses wave in the gentle winds of Caring wafting the scent of sugared lavender. Sandy trails climb the bluffs beside the sea.
A lighthouse on the bluff watches over all.
Everyone takes turns as the lighthouse keeper who offers sandwiches, cookies, and lavender mint tea to each visitor.
The communities of Caring are close knit and unfailingly kind.
“Although life is quiet here, it is very reassuring,” says a recent immigrant.
“The air is fresh and healing,” says Miss Doe Friend.
Caring gulls fly over the bluff watching. It is impossible to get lost or to feel too unpleasantly alone. The birds dip and flock.
“The land itself carries a calming scent and caress on the breeze,” says Miss Emeline Traveler.
The city Expansive overlooks the sea. There are many stone houses and cobblestone streets. Everyone has their own house who comes of age. Deer roam the streets. Hawks fly over head. The skies are wide and stretch from horizon to horizon. The city is open to all and friendly to all newcomers.
“The openness makes some people uncomfortable,” says the Guide.
“There’s so much space. It can be disconcerting,” says Miss Doe Friend.
Expansive trades freely with other lands. It offers foods, ideas, and travelers.
“It is a bustling, but well-organized city with thoughtful leaders,” says Miss Emeline Traveler.
