It's harvest time in the farmland Thankful. Trees hang thick with swollen stone fruits. Berries hang from bushes and vines. The rain falls softly and then the skies turn blue. The sun blossoms and shines. Thankful nestles in a valley. The sunsets inspire love and awe.
Cherry petals float through the skies. Cottonwood puffs. They coat the ground in pink and white fluff.
“I love to dig in the loamy earth,” says Miss Emeline Traveler, who looks delightful with dirty hands.
The people wear bonnets, kilts and boots. They tramp across the fields and bite into peaches. They work hard at the harvest and then bake pies. They ferment hops and grapes in huge casks and hoist mugs of beer and toast with glasses of wine at their celebrations.
“Welcome, visitors, to our harvest celebration!" says the Guide.
Heavy baskets of fruits and vegetables rest on the enormous table of Abundance. There are sweet and savory pies with thick crusts. The hundred inhabitants and visitors gathered around have good appetites. They have broad faces and smiles. If needed, they wear warm, loose, comfortable, and sturdy clothing. They pass delights around the table and to each other.
The Thankful are a loving tribe who work, play, and eat together. Everyone knows how to sing and play an instrument and they meet round Abundance to enjoy rousing songs. Sometimes they rise and step atop the table and dance between the dishes. No worries, the table is solid and strong. They are loving, kind, and generous. They each hold stout mugs and thick glasses. They toast and cheer and settle into comforting silence as night falls and then begin to tell their stories.
