These great animals roam the plains.
With thunderous hooves they charge forward leaving clouds of dust behind. They run faster than the fastest train.
They trample terrain. They demolished entire towns, but avoid crushing a lone little girl flowing around her. Even her dropped teddy bear remains unharmed.
The herd talks to the ghost riders bearing carriages. They share knowledge of routes and destinations.
All are equals. Each comes to Grief in their own way.
Many leave when they’ve seen the great herd pass, but they will return.
The majestic beauty of the herd, in the otherwise barren land, haunts them.
