Scalding, sweeping, squeaking

Taste: tomato soup Sight: russet orange, royal blue, moss green, heather brown; Take the blue pill: Shiny, oval, aqua drop abandoned on the tile floor. Touch: scalding Sound: sweeping, squeaking Smell: musky, dusky wine grapes hanging on trellises in the vineyard; grapefruit Extra: I knock on the famous author's door. She invites me in. In the dream her name is Julia Slavin (because I have just read The Woman Who Cut Off Her Leg at the Maidstone Club ). I sit down and she reads to me from her book. It is delicious to listen to her. She has long white curly hair with a golden hue to it. I see a picture of her in the back of the book when she is younger with long dark hair. She was born in 1977, but is very old now. On the way out, I ask her about writing and getting things published and she says, "Don't rush."
